Vision and Mission
Europump is the focal point and leading voice of the European pump industry, strengthening its contribution to society.
Founded in 1960, Europump brings together 15 national trade associations across 12 EU Member States, the United Kingdom, Turkey and Switzerland. Through them it represents more than 450 companies, a collective production value of over €10 billion and some 100,000 people employed across Europe.
Our vision
Pumps are rarely visible, yet almost nothing works without them. They move drinking water and treat wastewater, circulate heat in buildings, irrigate crops, and drive processes in the chemical, energy and food industries. They also account for a significant share of the electricity consumed by industry — which makes the efficiency of a pump, and of the system around it, a decisive factor in Europe's energy and climate objectives.
Our vision is an industry recognised for that contribution: technically competent, engaged in the European regulatory conversation on the basis of evidence, and equipped to supply the efficient and sustainable solutions that European users need.

- To encourage dialogue between all stakeholders
- To create and to identify what is important for the European pump industry
- To work with its members to ensure their interests are well represented on relevant regulatory and standardization issues at EU and international levels
- To ensure we are the global reference body for European pump related issues
How we work
Europump's work is carried out by its members. Technical, standardisation, market and communication questions are handled in dedicated Commissions and Working Groups, which bring together specialists from the member associations and their companies. Their conclusions feed the positions Europump defends before the European institutions and the standardisation bodies.
The association is governed by a General Assembly, which meets annually, and by an Executive Council composed of representatives of the national member associations, which meets several times a year. Day-to-day work is coordinated by the Secretariat in Brussels.
Europump also works alongside partner organisations at European and international level — among them Orgalim for European engineering industries, and the Hydraulic Institute in the United States — so that requirements applying to pumps are, wherever possible, consistent across markets.
